Snooper is a micro version of MAD(Magnetic Anomaly Detector) sensor which used for detecting submarine under the sea and developed for military purposes but it also has many applications for securities. It can catch the ultra small changes of magnetic field that generated by the movement of metallic object.
MAD(Magnetic Anomaly Detector)
The magnetic anomaly detector (MAD) is the instrument used to detect minute variations in the Earth's magnetic field.
Most of MAD sensor uses SQUID (Superconducting quantum interference device) based on Josephson effect which need very low temperature of liquid Helium.
MAD uses a magnetometer to monitor the earth’s magnetic field under the sea.
Large metal objects, such as submarines, create variances in the magnetic field. MAD detects such variances, revealing the location of submarines.
Ferronmagnetic Metal Material Detection
High sensitivity MAD can detect ferromagnetic objects from long distances. These sensors are used to detect gus, mines, ships and vehicels etc., and are based on the fact that the magnetic fields of ferromagnetic materials (its dipole moment) will distort the field lines of the ambient magnetic field, or create anomalies.

Detection Range
- SNOOPER has a spherical detection space.
- SNOOPER has a longer detection range than a conventional metal detector more than 10~100 times.
- The radius of the detection distance depend on the size of the metallic object.
- Detection radius is about 1.2 meters for a revolver, 2.5 meters for a long rifle and about 8.5 meter for a tank.

SNOOPER uses the variation of magnetic field, therefore it detects moving objects which made of ferromagnetic materials. Ferromagnetic materials are used in all kinds of guns (especially gunbarrel; stainless steel 416(forged, Cr.)), daggers, bombs(also pressure cooker bomb), cars, military vehicles, etc.
For military purposes, SNOOPER can detect armed forces terrorists approaching military facilities at night, passing troops to strategic position, which are impossible to detect by conventional sensors. Conventional motion detect sensors such as PIR or vision sensor can't be used for military purposes in out door places because they also react to movement of branch, falling leafs, wild animals. Unlike conventional sensors which are impossible to enclose th whole case, SNOOPER can be entirely packed and waterproof to prevent i from malfunctioning by dusts and water in harsh environment. SNOOPER can be placed under the ground.
